DUAL LANGUAGE UPER ELEMENTARY TEACHER | ST. MARY'S ALBUQUERQUE (2026-2027)

St. Mary's School is a mission-led Catholic educational institution committed to academic excellence, spiritual formation, and service to others. We are currently seeking a highly qualified and deeply committed Dual Language Upper Elementary Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is integral to our thriving 50/50 Dual Language Immersion Program, designed to cultivate biliteracy and bicultural competence in our students. The ideal candidate will be a faith-filled educator who is equally dedicated to the Catholic mission of the school and the rigorous demands of a successful dual language classroom.

The Dual Language Teacher will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing engaging, standards-based instruction in a 50/50 dual language model for upper elementary students.
• Teaching all core content areas (e.g., Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and Religion) with fidelity, effectively integrating both English and Spanish according to the program model.
• Creating a positive, structured, and faith-filled learning environment that supports students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including native Spanish speakers, native English speakers, and English Language Learners.
• Integrating Catholic principles, virtues, and the school's mission into daily lessons and classroom culture.
• Assessing student progress in both languages and using data to inform instructional decisions.
• Collaborating effectively with grade-level team members with both our English and Spanish departments and the broader school community.
• Maintaining open and consistent communication with parents regarding student performance and program goals.

Required:

• Practicing Catholic who is committed to supporting and upholding the mission and values of St. Mary's School.
• Biliterate and Bicultural proficiency in both Spanish and English, demonstrating high fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in both languages.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field or higher

Preferred:

• Prior experience teaching in a Dual Language or Bilingual Education setting, especially within a 50/50 model. 
• Experience teaching at the upper elementary level (e.g., Grades 3-5).
• A Bachelor's degree in Education, Dual Language, or a related field.
• Dual Language/Bilingual Endorsement.
