Veteran’s Day Program

St. Mary’s School in Belen honored close to 50 Veterans at an annual Veteran’s Day program.  Judge John Chavez, Colonel in the US Army, Ret. was the guest speaker for a gymnasium full of families, friends and parishioners.  The students sang patriotic songs and each class presented the honored guests from all branches of military with individual favors.  Fifth grader, Victoria Rodrigues, sang the National Anthem.  St. Mary’s Roadrunner Cub Scouts did a flag folding demonstration narrated by Student Council officer, Katherine Smith.  Student Council President Guinivere Mayse served as MC.  Every year St. Mary’s invites all local veterans to join us in a celebration in their honor on Veterans Day.
