STEM, a curricular focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is the latest educational initiative to prepare students for the job market of the 21st century. Religion and Art are included in STEM at Holy Ghost Catholic School (HGCS). To incorporate STREAM into teaching and learning at HGCS, STEMscopes, a STEM curriculum recently developed by Rice University, was adopted in 2016 to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students. Continuing to pursue academic excellence, teachers at HGCS are also working toward STEM Teacher Certification with NISE, the National Institute for STEM Education.
