Spring is a wonderful time of the year. The days are getting longer and warmer. Trees are beginning to bud and flowers are slowly breaking through the once frozen ground. With the Easter season still upon us, there are signs of new life all around us. I thought this would be the perfect time to add two new events to the Risen Savior Catholic Preschool calendar.

St. Thomas Aquinas School’s (STAS) youngest pelicans have had a great year learning with many fun activities. One of their latest was a week packed with projects that included creating, rhyming, and lots of exciting activities in math and science. How did they do this? Well, there’s no better way than reading Dr. Seuss stories.

In 1996, St. Pope John Paul II said that in terms of faith and science, true science and true religion were compatible because “We know that truth does not contradict the truth.” O.L.A. strives to use these experiences and testimonies of our guests to help our students understand that science can in fact, enhance our faith, and help us grow a deeper love, appreciation, and understanding for God’s creation.
Camp Invention is a week-long summer camp, that boosts confidence in kids using a hands-on STEM curriculum that lets those students entering Kindergarten through sixth grade explore, study, and even invent! The camp involves learning but incorporates games and encourages friendships. Camp Invention is a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Guided by Catholic Social Teaching and supported by students, parents, staff, and local organizations, hundreds of service projects, both group and individual, have made a difference in the Albuquerque area and beyond over the past two decades.
We strive to teach our students about the importance of serving others like Jesus did. To emphasize this lesson, the students learned about community helpers in the month of April.

Prayer services allow for flexibility and creativity on the part of the classes; the service does not have to conform to the readings of the day or follow the structure of the Mass. Since our school is focusing on the virtues and the fruits of the Holy Spirit, each prayer service reflects one of those.
This apostolate will be a way to connect with our local community as well as those outside of our geographical area to study our heritage, strengthen relationships and network with others who want to help us with our school mission to raise saints and form scholars.
